Job Search Guide - Unique Places To Find Offerings Jobs

Job Search Guide

There are certain places where everyone checks that is looking for a job. They go pick up a newspaper and look in the classified section. They go online and look on Craigslist, and other online locations that list job opportunities. They also go on to LinkedIn and put all of their job qualifications, experience, and educational degrees online. These are all pretty wise if you are looking for a job, but that is where everyone else is going as well. There are many other unique places to find job offerings.
Perhaps you should be looking at bulletin boards at places like Starbucks, or at snack shops which are inside high-rise office buildings or small lunchtime restaurants in business industrial areas. It seems there are always job offerings available. Another interesting idea is to talk to someone that does mobile detailing in office parks, and ask them if they know if anyone is hiring, you'd be surprised how much information they know about the local business districts.
You might also go and talk to a church during non-Sunday services, and ask the pastor if they have any information on potential jobs. Tell them of your situation, and your need to find work, and they may just refer you to someone who owns a business who attends the church who is looking for help right now. You'd be surprised how well that works. Community college bulletin boards also have job listings, and even if you aren't a young person, you still might answer that call. Perhaps you might even be more suited because you have a little experience under your belt.
If you are looking for work in the automotive sector, you might talk to the guy who delivers and sells tools in his van to all the automotive repair shops. They are definitely in the know, and they know when someone leaves or when a position opens up. What I'm saying to you is this; you don't have to do everything the old way, you have to use your creativity and open your mind to other potential opportunities, things that other people may not be looking for - sometimes using unique strategies when searching for a job will yield the best results.
Further, if you are a creative person, and a better detective while looking for a job, then I'd say you probably deserve it more than the next person. After all, you are using your mind, and that's what an employer really needs. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

**Fantastic Tips For Preparing For A Job Interview Easily**

From time to time we could all use a little help with updating our interview techniques, whether you're a young buck fresh from school or a hardened veteran from the school of hard knocks in the article below I will try to help you prepare for your interview.
I will share with you some simple tips that will help you on your way to getting the job you want.

Problems you may have experienced?

On the morning of your interview you find that your killer job interview outfit no longer fits and also realise at the same time that perhaps it's time to hit the gym again!
You've arrived on time at the right building, but what you didn't realise was there were 20 different departments within that building and all on different floors.
You could be a nervous rambler, you know exactly how to sell yourself and the skills you have, yet when crunch time comes, your nerves take over and before you know it, you're halfway out the door smiling back whilst saying thank you and goodbye.
Let's get started on being ready!
1. Find out the location of the building you need to attend and if you need to be at a particular part of that building, find out exactly which part of the building your interview is being held at.
2. Plan and time your route to the place you need to be at. I would suggest a couple of days before your actual interview day. The last thing you want to do is turn up late because you arrived at the place on time but it took you a further hour trying to find the department.

Dressing for impressing!

We all have something smart in our wardrobe and if we don't we can often beg and borrow. First impressions last so you want to make a good one by dressing accordingly. By which I mean use your common sense and dress appropriately for your interview.
Just be sure you can attend your interview looking smart, clean and well presented. Which for women generally means hair brushed and maybe some make up (don't plaster it on though - it's a job interview not a night out on the town) just some subtle make up to show you take pride in your appearance will suffice. For men clean-shaven is always the best way to go, and for everyone clean, fresh breath is an absolute must.
You don't need to worry about selling yourself and your skills from the second you walk in the room as you have the interview so your C.V. has covered a lot of the ground work for you already. Your interviewers are already interested in hiring you and now it is time to show them why you are an exact fit for the job advertised. You need to elaborate on your skill sets now that make you the best person for the job.

Bright eyed and bushy-tailed.

Getting a good nights rest before the interview can be tricky as anxious nerves may kick in, scenarios of how the next day may pan out play out like a stuck CD in your head. Meanwhile times ticking away and just as you start to feel exhausted enough to sleep, your alarm goes off, this is never a good start to interview day.
Remember your potential employer will probably not appreciate the 'I've had a sleepless night but drank lots of coffee and energy drinks' look, nor will they appreciate you sounding like your heart is only half in it and you would rather actually have been home in bed. A good nights rest before an interview is a must!
So to help you relax and make you feel that you are actually prepared and are ready for the interview, preparation is the key.
Here is a few tricks I have personally tried and tested that have helped me.
1. Research the job for which you're applying for. This will help your confidence when answering questions about the position at your interview.
2. Practice in front of a mirror either by yourself or with a good friend. The laughs you create will certainly relax your mind, body and soul.
3. A long soak in a hot bath/shower will help you relax. Then just slouch in your favourite pyjamas with a nice cup of tea or hot chocolate afterwards.
All these tips and tricks are methods that I have used and have helped me be successful in gaining employment in my chosen field. I feel sure that they will complement the tools your local recruitment agency have also given you and hopefully will help you gain employment in your chosen field.

**Job Search Tips-Re-Entering the Job Market **

Update Your Skills

If possible, you should try to determine if some of your essential job skills require updating and then aim to undertake a refresher course or some re-training. Being aware of any advancements in your specific job area or market sector and endeavouring to keep abreast of them will certainly impress any prospective employer. Whilst some time may have passed since you last worked in a particular field, ensuring that your skills are up to date will help improve your marketability to any employer.

Refresh your CV

The CV you present to an employer should certainly be updated. Don't leave the gap since you last worked unexplained. Even if you only write a couple of lines, clarifying what you have been doing, it will be beneficial. Make sure that your CV details the most relevant skills and the most relevant experience for whatever job you have applied for. Tailor your CV to suit. Don't simply create one CV and expect that to fit the bill on all counts. The job market is extremely competitive and you need to step up to that competition. Remove any outdated terminology or references. It is often suggested too that removing certain dates on your CV such as your date of birth, or perhaps the dates you obtained certain qualifications can help ensure that you are not the victim of any unfortunate and illegal age discrimination.

Define what you want now

If you have been out of employment for a while, there is of course the possibility that you may no longer want to return to your previous career choice or that you want to change career direction entirely. Before beginning your job search in earnest, spend some time evaluating exactly what it is that you want to do. Identify your key transferable skills and highlight on your CV those which would be most relevant and sought after by prospective employers in other areas. Make sure too that you clearly advise any recruitment agencies of your new career intentions so that you aren't pigeon-holed into areas that no longer interest you.

Use Connections

It may be a cliché but it is still often true - it's not what you know, it's who you know. Don't underestimate the power of reconnecting with former work colleagues or employers. Use social networks like LinkedIn to start networking with them and let them know you are looking for a new job. New opportunities could come your way, and recommendations that could stand you in good stead.
Above all, look at the whole thing as a new opportunity - this is effectively the beginning of another chapter in your life where you can explore new areas of work and career options.

How To Generate Targeted Leads In Construction Marketing

Targeted lead generation is the life blood of construction marketing. But how can we populate that crucial database with contacts that will deliver?
Business development can become a set of nice theories written by desk bound business gurus that have very little to do with the real world of making money and growing your business! The bottom line is that you have to find business opportunities from your current client base and develop new business outside of your "comfort zone." This need not be an unpleasant task or a huge struggle if you remember that lead generation is about finding people for whom you can solve problems. When you've identified a potential solution for a potential client who has actually expressed a viable interest, you've got a "hot lead."
Here are some places to look for problems to solve.
Who is currently doing work for the client prospect as a contractor, and when does their contract end? Try to identify all of the contractors working in your territory. Find out what their scope of work is, and how many staff they have. You can usually find out when their contract ends by asking the contracting officer. You may also be able to find out about any future procurement plans and what the criteria is for selecting contractors. Keep in mind, other contractors are not just competitors, they are also potential partners. They might not like you snooping around, even though they'll be doing it too, but may not mind high-level queries aimed at identifying partnering potential. A good source of information of course, would be company websites.
Once you are clear about the kind of work you are targeting, you need to identify what companies could potentially give you that work or be prepared to partner with you in a joint venture. Investigate company budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans. Many clients publish them and you can normally find this information on their web site. If you can't find the information, ask. That way you'll know what they want to do and how much they are preparing to spend on it.
Build an organisation chart of your target company which should include projects as well as staffing, and then begin an investigation to fill in the details. Talk to people. What are they working on? What do they want to see happen? Play dumb. Ask them how things are supposed to work. Try not to be a burden. Be helpful. Show interest, and let them do the talking.
Companies that are seeking to partner with each other are often prepared to share their contact base, as long as there are no conflicts of interest. It helps to know people at other companies and to talk about teaming potential, so when opportunities come up, you can pass leads back-and-forth. This is a great way to build trust and loyalty which are the foundations for good partnering.
In the USA construction market, the Federal Government website has some useful links and information that can deliver good leads for your to contact. However, to have a competitive advantage, you have to be doing your research before the announcement hits the Fed Gov site.Bid Locator Services is another useful location for lead generation. These have similarities with the Fed Gov site, but may have better coverage of state and local procurements and may cover certain private sector industries. Just like the Fed Biz Opps government site, you shouldn't rely too heavily on a locator service. You need to do your homework before opportunities are officially announced.
In the UK construction markets there are a number of useful outlets for generating leads. Tenders Direct, BIP Solutions, Emap Glenigan, Barbour ABI Building Data and Builders conference.
All these are good sources for construction leads. However, to have a real competitive advantage, keep your ear to the ground. A good source of information would be through your in house database system which would include all your previous clients. Keep in touch with them!
You need to think through some critical questions before contacting your potential clients:
Why should they choose your company?
Does your client have a section criteria and do you know what their expectation is?
Is there enough perceived benefit that offers unique solutions to meet the requirements of your client?
Have you researched your potential client's website to discover what their core business is and what are their strategic aims?
Are you offer a solutions based service that will tick the boxes for this client?
Does your corporate culture fall in line with the those and aims of your client's company?
Developing a database with key contacts is absolutely indispensable to your business growth.
However you need to remain focused and targeted and avoid the dreaded scatter gun approach.
Once you have populated your database with good contacts, they need to be qualified through careful and consistent contact and then sorted into hot, warm and cold leads.
Schedule recalls in your diary and keep on the case.

6 Ways To Get Quality Business Leads From Your Local Community

How can you continually find quality business sales leads and business appointments for your business when a large, international brand suddenly shows up in your locality? With so many large brands opening up everywhere, small local businesses might feel threatened for their market share, but they shouldn't be. They can maximize on their existing assets and not only keep their existing clients or customers, but also generate more qualified b2b sales leads for their business. As a small, local business, here's what you have to do to keep your and effectively increase your market share:

Promote the fact that you've been in business longer than your competitor. Simply showing that you have been a delivering quality service for years shows how reliable you are to your clients and potential business leads. It's also a good way of tapping into the emotional side of your market.

Actively market your products and services as well. When you hire professional telemarketers to market your products, make sure they promote your brand in their spiel, and nothing else. Also, this shows that you are helping your local community by providing jobs and improving the life of families. The more developed a community is, the opportunities there are for small businesses to grow because the jobs they create attract young people and families into settling in the community.

Give back to the community directly by supporting local causes. As a local yourself, you would be informed about the local government's activities. Because you don't have to go through corporate red tape to support local events, you can do so right away. Furthermore, as you're a native, government officials and the local community will not hesitate to accept your support. Doing so will further endear your brand not only to your target business leads, but also to everyone else. When you decide to expand your business outside of your chosen niche, finding more qualified business leads won't be as difficult anymore.

You won't be able to fight the big guys all by yourself, so make sure that your employees are well compensated for their services. When your own people are happy, you can expect that your contented employees won't hesitate to go the extra mile for your b2b leads. The result, of course, would be equally happy business sales leads. Additionally, you can look forward to a lot of qualified business leads for your business to business company when your employees are generously paid.

Increase Your B2B Leads In Eight Ways

Increase Your B2B Leads In Eight Ways

The lead generation business is certainly a very important part of the over-all marketing campaign. After all, without such business leads, it can become really hard to find more business coming to your company. This makes it all the more important that you work with an expert lead generation company that knows its business well and can deliver what it promises. Of course, if you feel determined to do things on your own, then you might want to take note of these few marketing tips. These can be handy in helping you gather more quality B2B leads during the course of your campaign. These are:

1. Think of your offer as a verb

when you think of a product as a noun (like cook), you think about features. If you focus more on the verb (cooking) you think about the benefits. Guess which of these will help you sell better.

2. Work on prequalified leads

yes, you may be able to talk to a lot of prospects, but not all of them will actually decide to buy from you. If you want to increase your chances of selling, then focus on the B2B leads that count.

3. Do not waste your time

this rule applies both to you and your prospects. Think about it, your time is precious. Do not waste it with idle chatter or small talk. Go straight to the point.

4. Talk less and listen more

remember, you are in a sales call. You need to know what is in the mind of your prospects so that you can figure out how to best sell to them. And that means you have to listen to what they say.

5. Reduce your paperwork

if you spend so much of your time filing paperwork, then you will be wasting a lot of opportunities. Instead of being able to talk to more business prospects, you are doing something else that is not really necessary to increase your business' profits.

6. Shorten your sales cycles

think about it this way, if you can reduce the amount of time you spend in closing a sale, you will actually increase your chances of making more sales in a given cycle. This will also make it easier for you to make records and negotiations, too.

7. Increase the size of your orders

ever heard of the term up-selling? Here, you encourage prospects to make a huge purchase from you. Properly done, this is a very profitable exercise that you can do. After all, it is better to close one big deal, instead of finding several smaller ones. It will also save your customers' time as well.

8. Always think of the future

when you have a lot of customers now, it is normal that you underestimate the future. That is a bad business habit. In this case, it is advisable that you keep getting more qualified business leads filling your pipeline. This will help you stay on top of your game.
These are just some of the tips you should remember, but they really work.
